Jeffrey A. Schwartz, MD, FACEP

Dr. Jeffrey Schwartz is board-certified and residency trained in emergency medicine. He is known for his expertise in emergency department operations, documentation, and efficiency, and has helped many hospitals improve their workflow while integrating EMRs into the emergency department practice environment.

As a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine and the University of Illinois-Chicago’s residency in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Schwartz has been practicing emergency medicine since 1987. Dr. Schwartz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and is also a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is an active member of the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians and has participated on its Practice Management Committee since 1995.

From 1989 to 1994, Dr. Schwartz was a member of the Medical Advisory Board and a consultant for Kurzweil Applied Intelligence of Waltham, Massachusetts. He has also delivered lectures and presentations, been involved with community EMS activities, and has published research projects in The Annals of Emergency Medicine and The American Journal of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Schwartz also lectures and leads discussions on the topic of “Paradigms in Emergency Medicine” as it applies to the many changes facing the specialty.
