SCP and ECI Healthcare, a Schumacher Clinical Partner (ECI), are rolling the dice in a big way at this year's ACEP Scientific Assembly, ACEP16, in Las Vegas, October 16 - 18.
And whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a brand new attendee, we want you to join us. You’ll find new ways to learn, new opportunities to network, and new reasons to build a solid foundation for emergency medicine.
Here are the top five things to you should put on your “ACEP to-do list” that involve SCP and ECI.
1. Learn About the SCP/ECI Merger
SCP and ECI have teamed up to deliver more for providers and the patients they serve. That includes an expansion of resources, further growth in services offerings, and the utilization of industry-leading best practices.
At ACEP16, the fact that we've joined forces will be hard to miss. We're proudly putting the merger on display with signage throughout the venue, at our trade exhibits, and even during the opening night kickoff party, sponsored by SCP and ECI at OMNIA in Caesars Palace.
2. Visit the Booths and Take a Selfie
Our two booths (SCP at booth 1626 and ECI at booth 1233) are designed to inform, educate, and entertain.
Representatives will be available to answer your questions and provide information as to what SCP and ECI have to offer to providers looking for new career opportunities.
For fun, you can get into the theme using our selfie- generator. Your face will appear in animated scenes featuring bike riders and Vegas show girls, with prizes to boot! We'll also be giving away lots of promotional items, too, so have your trade show "trick-or-treat" bag ready.
3. Get the Goods: Obtain a VIP Pass
Providers can snag a VIP pass to the ACEP16 Kickoff Party on opening night by visiting the exhibits. There’s also a contest for residents to win Elite VIP passes for themselves and three friends. (More about that below.)
4. Attend the ACEP16 Kickoff Party
Think doctors can't have fun? Think again!
For the fourth year in a row, ECI is partnering with ACEP to launch the conference assembly with an unforgettable opening night bash, Sunday, October 16, from 7 p.m. until midnight at the famous Omnia nightclub in Caesars Palace.
The multi-level venue encompasses a seductive ultra-lounge, a high-energy main room, and a breathtaking rooftop garden showcasing panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip. Live music, dancing, drink tickets, and hors d’oeuvres galore will add flair and flavor to the scene.
“What started out as a fun night for a few hundred people has turned into an amazing one for thousands," said Dr. Derik King, ECI division president. "We don’t expect anything less from this year’s party at the Omnia.”
The kickoff party is open to all ACEP16 registrants who are at least 21 years of age. Those with a VIP pass will receive private club access and party perks. Quantities are limited, however, so visit our booths early!
5. Attend Dr. Randy Pilgrim’s Presentation
This is really what ACEP is all about – learning from top national Emergency Medicine movers and shakers. Our own Dr. Randy Pilgrim, enterprise chief medical officer, SCP, will be giving a presentation on Saturday, October 15, from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m., entitled "Disruptive Innovations in Acute and Emergency Care: Aligning Payment and Delivery Reform."
The session, sponsored by Urgent Matters, will highlight new disruptive innovations in acute and emergency care. The cost to attend is $89 for ACEP members, $139 for non-members, and $69 for residents.
In addition to his presentation, Dr. Pilgrim will be presenting the Urgent Matters’ Innovation of the Year award. The winning team will receive the honor of presenting their innovation at the Urgent Matters Conference, held at ACEP16.
Emergency Medicine Resident Association Career Fair
In addition to all of this, residents can participate in the Emergency Medicine Resident Association (EMRA) Career Fair, Sunday, October 16, from 5 – 7 p.m.
SCP will have ten different tables throughout the venue representing each region of the country. Residents can visit a table and learn about career opportunities from vendors in the different areas. Those actively looking for jobs should bring copies of their CV.
Residents are also encouraged to participate in the VIP Resident Challenge Giveaway to win VIP passes to the opening night kickoff party, sponsored by ECI and SCP. Entries must be received by October 4 to be eligible. Ten lucky residents will be selected randomly to receive VIP access for themselves and three guests.
You've heard the saying, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." In the case of ACEP16, what happens in Vegas at the assembly saves lives. We look forward to seeing you there.
Don’t be tardy for the party!
